New York trip, continued to be really in NY

The plane ride was easier back into the States was easier than the one over to England, though jet lag was beginning to set in as they flew up near where the cabin was. The horses were in the stable already, but they were driven up since there were more luggage to deal with this time for the longer stay.

Once the car left, and they were inside the place, Kate yawned, and hugged Will.

"Feel like anything? A nap?"

"Found 'em an they looked lovely an need a touch o'meat on the plate after all."

He sits down and grabs some toast as he kisses her on the lips.

"Not always, remind me to tell you about vegetarian and vegan cooking sometime." She grinned as she kissed him back.

"Tell me 'bout 'em now then, always glad to know more 'bout yer world."

She nibbled on some toast, and ate a few berries before responding with, "All right, basically it's cooking and meals that are meatless. Some people do it because of animal rights, or say they are. Some don't like meat, or have a hard time with it. Some do it for religious reasons, and some do it just to be healthy."

"But meat's so precious, 'ow can ye choose to na eat it? Mean 'eart it talked o'but doesna make sense to me."

Growing up hungry changes how you view eating.

"It's not that rare in my time, Will, or that expensive. It's mass produced now. As I said, some don't eat it simply because of their beliefs about life, and animals, and they don't want to kill."

He takes a rather large bit of sausage before talking again,

"Beliefs, like the monks an all?"

"Yes, like that. Just of another religion though. That's all." She stuck with her eggs and fruit for the time being, though she'll eventually have some sausage.

"Oh aye, guess sort o'makes sense."

He starts eating the cereal after putting some yogurt on it,

"'ave many o''em e'er known 'unger?"

Kate remarked, "Well, for those who do so for religious and cultural reasons, many of those countries are very poor. So yes, they know it well. But they wouldn't even consider some animals, and see them as sacred."

She added, "For those where it's more just a choice, no, many of them haven't."

Will just nods, he's still not sure what he thinks about that idea as he puts some of his eggs on the toast and munches on a sausage.

"It's a lot bigger world than you know, Will. Some places even on Earth are very different."

"Aye, I know. Milliways 'as shown me, been tryin' to learn just get surprised is all at times. What shall we do today?"

"Well, sure, and you've been getting culture shock left and right lately."

She picked up her dishes and went to the sink to wash them.

"Maybe a ride and a swim? There's some small ponds and lakes we can go to."

"That'd be nice, could wear our suits under out clothin' an all, bring a picnic too. Doin' me best to na tumble too much though, dinna wish to disappoint ye."

"You won't disappoint me. Stop worrying. That's an order."

Now he laughs and kisses her as he helps her with the dishes,

"Can get the 'orses ready for us then."

"Good idea. I'll meet you out there after I change."

She kissed him briefly, and then headed to the bedroom to get her bikini on and underneath some regular clothes.

"Oh aye, need to do that too."

It doesn't take him too long to change and he grins at her as she changes before heading out to the horses along with two carrots he snagged from the kitchen.

She finished up packing some things in a tote for them. And got together something light for a picnic. Fruit, breads and cheeses with grape juice.

Outside he's found the horses and they're lovely and soon he's got them saddled up and lead them around to the front of the house.

Kate came out with the bags to load up carefully on the horses. Making sure the weight was even so as to not strain them.

She petted the horse for a moment before mounting up to ride.

"All ready? We're heading southeast to the place."

"Aye, love."

He's up in a moment and just grins,

"Like this place, feel can 'ave some peace 'ere."

"Good, kind of the point for coming here. Something familiar and nice."

"Oh aye, this trail then?"

He follows a trail through the woods and when they reach a meadow and grins at her,

"Race ye to the trees."
