Her stomach rumbled a little.

"Good." Definitely hungry now for breakfast. She got up, and headed over to the basket to pull out some items. thermos of tea, some biscuits and scones, also sandwiches and fruit, cheese.

He stands up beside her, giving her a hug as he pokes the fire awake,

"I'll 'eat the tea up. Ye look a bit better, love."

"A little bit. Some sleep helped." She hugged him back, and smoothed some hair back from his forehead.

"How are you?"

His answer is take, use his knife to toast a scone over the fire,

"Well 'nough, more worried for ye."

"I'll be all right. Just needed some time away."

"Aye, course, what do ye wish to do?"

"I don't know. Just be here. Offer my help where I can actually do something good for a change."

"Aye, o'course."

It hurts so much to see her like this and he sets to work eating as the tea is finally reheated.

Bitter smile, "Even though getting chased by cops will be familiar now." She munched on an early apple.

"Aye, well think we can keep that from 'appenin' too much."

"I'll be fine. At least they don't have cars or guns yet here."

"Nay just blades an bows."

He keeps eating, rubbing her back and trying to think of what they can do that will help her but also not be too dangerous.

She leaned against him.

"A lot easier to deal with, and be on more equal footing."

Kate munched on some bites of sandwich and added, "I want to get used to being here anyway. Make this a second home, you know?"

That makes him blush and give her a much truer smile,

"Aye, just as I wish to know yer New York better."

"I know, but now we've been to my world longer than yours. Hardly seems fair you know?"

"Oh aye. Well na sure if goin' to Nottingham is the safest place, but there's a family was thinkin' 'bout checkin' on."

She smiled back, "Oh? We can do that today. Who is it?"

"Just one o'the wee ones 'as been sick an Tuck gave me some stuff to so I can check on 'em. Also whate'er we dinna eat will do 'em good."

She checked the basket.

"There's plenty here. Looks like Bar stocked extra for it. And one of the kids is sick?"

She quickly gulped her tea, and went to grab her cloak.

"Dammit Will, why didn't you say so before? We have to go now."

He takes her hand,

"Kate, Tuck's been carin' for the child for the past week. If 'e thought Tom was bad, 'e'd be comin' 'imself, just sendin' me to check."

She stopped, and turned back to him.

"Oh... sorry, I know how serious illnesses are here."

"Naught to 'pologize for, tis a true worry. Should finish eatin' an 'ave some tea 'fore we go though."

Kate nodded, and ate a little bit more.

She then added quietly, "He didn't really do anything. Just grabbed my wrist for a moment. Got a little close to my ear for my taste since I only let you do that, but it's not... it wasn't at all like that. Pissed me off more than anything, and I think I need to go back to my world for a long time. Getting kind of crazy around the bar sometimes you know?"

"Aye, I do know. An 'e made ye feel 'urt, Kate an that's what matters. Dinna 'pologize for 'im."

"He upset me. Just the timing of it. Still dealing with what happened with Brand, and now with Billy and Teddy going through the war. And you with tax time... All of it adds up."
