"Nay just blades an bows."

He keeps eating, rubbing her back and trying to think of what they can do that will help her but also not be too dangerous.

She leaned against him.

"A lot easier to deal with, and be on more equal footing."

Kate munched on some bites of sandwich and added, "I want to get used to being here anyway. Make this a second home, you know?"

That makes him blush and give her a much truer smile,

"Aye, just as I wish to know yer New York better."

"I know, but now we've been to my world longer than yours. Hardly seems fair you know?"

"Oh aye. Well na sure if goin' to Nottingham is the safest place, but there's a family was thinkin' 'bout checkin' on."

She smiled back, "Oh? We can do that today. Who is it?"

"Just one o'the wee ones 'as been sick an Tuck gave me some stuff to so I can check on 'em. Also whate'er we dinna eat will do 'em good."

She checked the basket.

"There's plenty here. Looks like Bar stocked extra for it. And one of the kids is sick?"

She quickly gulped her tea, and went to grab her cloak.

"Dammit Will, why didn't you say so before? We have to go now."

He takes her hand,

"Kate, Tuck's been carin' for the child for the past week. If 'e thought Tom was bad, 'e'd be comin' 'imself, just sendin' me to check."

She stopped, and turned back to him.

"Oh... sorry, I know how serious illnesses are here."

"Naught to 'pologize for, tis a true worry. Should finish eatin' an 'ave some tea 'fore we go though."

Kate nodded, and ate a little bit more.

She then added quietly, "He didn't really do anything. Just grabbed my wrist for a moment. Got a little close to my ear for my taste since I only let you do that, but it's not... it wasn't at all like that. Pissed me off more than anything, and I think I need to go back to my world for a long time. Getting kind of crazy around the bar sometimes you know?"

"Aye, I do know. An 'e made ye feel 'urt, Kate an that's what matters. Dinna 'pologize for 'im."

"He upset me. Just the timing of it. Still dealing with what happened with Brand, and now with Billy and Teddy going through the war. And you with tax time... All of it adds up."

"Kate, love, ye're makin' 'xcuses for a man who doesna deserve 'em. 'e made ye feel na 'ttacked, tis what counts, naught else."

"He's not a man. Part of the problem."

She finished her tea, "We should get going."

"Still doesna mean ye should be givin' reasons why what 'e did wasna that bad an aye."

He packs up the basket, watching her with a worried glance, she is not going to take the blame for this.

"Let it go, Will." She kissed his lips, and grabbed her weapons to head outside.

The kiss relaxes him slightly but will take more than that for him to truly let it go, he saw her at the punching bag.

So he kisses her back before opening the door to a rain soaked day in Sherwood.

She raised the hood over her head again, and took his hand as they walked outside, feet slightly squishing against the wet undergrowth of leaves, branches and brush.

As they move along the path, his steps are quiet and aware though his hand never leaves hers.

She gripped his hand, and focused on quieting her own steps on the path. Careful in how she placed her foot to leave as little a trail as possible.

The forest is full of noises but most of the birds and animals are drying off as they reach a small cottage that looks barely held together.

As they approach Will lets go of Kate's hand so he can make a sound like a robin. A tired woman opens the door and smiles at them,

"Good day, Will my lad, an yer lady. There's warmth an dry 'ere an Tom's wishin' 'e could go play."

"Good day, madam, and thank you." She smiled and bowed her head.

They both get a grin as the door is opened and Will smiles,

"Brought ye a basket an glad Tom's doin' so well. 'rhaps can play with 'im since its too wet to go out anyway."

That just makes Will laugh and as they're lead inside a little boy sits in the small bed and grins,

"Will, Will, I'm all better, Will. Tuck must tell Mum that I can play now. Who's the lovely lass. Are ye goin' to marry 'er?"

"Aye, lad, someday an sure I'll tell Tuck but dinna believe ye just yet could be foolin' me wiht yer rosy cheeks an all."
