Back to New York for another visit

They walked through the door, and it lead out to a street a few blocks from the warehouse where the team now trained.

Kate got out her cellphone, and texted a message, her other hand linked with Will's.

"Just letting Cassie and the others know we're on our way. Another example of modern technology, a lot quicker than trying to call across a town square, and longer distance," She held up the phone to show him the modern device.

He heads back towards the elevator with her hand firmly in his and presses the buttons to head down,

"I got some coin from yer time so I'll get this an ye can tell me where we'll go an do next."

Kate waited until the elevator doors closed, and then remarked, "All right, well Toys R'Us is right by here too. Also, there might be time to get a bite to eat, and catch a show?"

"Sounds lovely, thank ye for being patient with me, Kate."

"You're lucky I am," She ruefully said, and kissed him again.

He takes his time with the kiss and then the elevator stops, "Know I am."

Luckily the line to the register isn't too long and it takes Will a moment or two to figure out the money, but gets Atton's present all set and even gets it wrapped in shiny paper too.

Make that two shiny packages with Kate handing one to Will once they're outside of the store.

"Here."

He blinks down at the present and isn't sure if he should open it now or not,

"Kate, love, what's this?"

Then the crowd moves around them slightly and Will holds her hand a little tighter.

"I'm not going to tell you, you have to open it."

It was a dartboard, something he could set up in his room to practice his aim with.

The bag with Atton's present is looped on his wrist as Will opens it and grins, giving Kate a kiss,

"Thank ye, ye'll 'ave to 'elp me set it up. Now to this other store or 'rhaps grab a bite to eat."

Since its been a busy day so far and Will's just a bit hungry though he's also Will so that's not a surprise.

Kate considered that, and hugged him back, "I will. And maybe some food first. There's some good delis around here to stop at."

"Aye, could do with a food. What's a deli then?"

He keeps looking around, its like market day but even more.

Kate eyed him a little, "You've been to New York twice now, and haven't been in a deli? This needs to be remedied." She tugged him along down the street. They were walking along Fifth now, with Times Square a little further uptown. Right now they were closer to Rockefeller Center and Radio City Music Hall.

"Pretty sure there's a good one this way. I think Spiderman recommended it once."

"Um nay, but glad to go to own."

He follows her with a smile, looking around very much the tourist beside her.

"To one? Yes, down this street."

It was one tucked away from the main street, and clearly looked more like a hidden treasure to locals. You seat yourself, and there's menus at the table.

The waitress then came by to take orders.

"You want some iced tea?" Kate asked Will.

The menu is quite a lot of fun and Will just nods as he tries to decide which sandwich to try.

"Two iced teas, and we'll need a few moments, thank you, Helen." Kate replied, and then said to Will.

"Got any questions, or see anything you like? We can also get some knishes to snack on if you want to, and they even have blintzes with fruit."

"Dinna know some o'these names, tell me what's good? Since smells lovely in 'ere an that makes it 'ard to decide."

Will is rather hungry suddenly.

"Well blintzes are like pancakes but much thinner. Can get them topped with fruit. Latkes are potato pancakes. A Reuben is rye bread with corned beef or pastrami on sauerkraut and Russian dressing with swiss cheese. or there's a Rachel with cole slaw instead of sauerkraut..." Kate started to explain several of the items that she knew.

"Can we get a few things to try and the Reuben sounds like a good sandwich?"

"...I don't think even you can eat everything in the deli, Will. We'll get some appetizers to try, and a reuben for you, and that usually comes with fries and cole slaw." She was leaning toward one of the turkey sandwiches for herself, and ordered up several items from the surprised waitress.

"Well, he does look like he needs some more meat on his bones, big appetite too, huh?" The waitress remarked.

He just grins at the waitress,

"Oh aye, I'm always gettin' told that. Sounds like a good plan an ye can tell me what sorts o'shows we can see."

"Be right back with that nosh you wanted," The waitress left them then.

Kate then said, "Well there's a couple of shows played, some are based on movies or books. Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, also Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables... maybe not the latter ones, come to think of it."

She then explained with brief summaries of shows.

"The Lion King one sounds sort o'a nice, an would like to just watch somethin' with ye."

His hand hasn't left hers and now he picks it up and gives her hand a kiss and a few down her fingers.

Kate smiled back, and remarked, "All right, after our meal, I'll check to see how tickets are for a show (http://nothawkingbird.livejournal.com/2505.html)."

Their orders soon came up, and there was just light conversation as they enjoyed their meal. They even ordered a few kugel and pastries for dessert. Though Kate only nibbled a little of it.
