They entered her room with Will still carrying her.

"You can put me down, now, you know." She quietly said to him.

She resisted the urge to just flop out on her bed like this and wanted to sink into a chair instead with a sigh. Gonna wake up really sore in the morning likely too.

He does put her down, very carefully and then gently kisses her,

"Aye, an I am, now I'm goin' to take care o'yer injuries, tell me where ye're 'urt."

The first aid kit is laid out and he's examining her with a close eye.

"Might be easier to say where I'm not. Feel sore over much my upper half. Just bruises I think." The ones at her neck and arms were certainly colorful now, all blue and purple.

With a grim nod, he first gets her a nightgown from her wardrobe,

"Right, this should be more comfortable, an Lady Bar gave me some things that ye can lay on 'em to feel better."

"As long as there's some aspirin in there, or Tylenol, or something, I should be all right."

She winced as she unfastened her costume and peeled it away from her carefully. The bruises on neck and arms were more obvious, as well as some on the side of her torso that she was hit on. If he checked her head, likely find a goose egg or two up there as well on the opposite side as her head went painfully to the side against the wall.

She then took the nightgown from him and carefully went to slip it on over top.

The painkillers aren't hard to find and he gets some water for her to drink them and tries to help with her costume and nightgown,

"Oh love, 'ate to see ye 'urtin' so."

"How do you think I felt when you were sick with the flu? Or any future problems with the Sheriff or bounty hunters?" She replied pointedly after she swallowed the pills, and carefully settled back on the bed.

"Definitely going to feel this in the morning too."

He takes off his boots and joins her on the bed, running a hand through her hair but not being too close, doesn't want to make things worse,

"Aye, I know an I pray ye ne'er see me 'urtin', but canna make any promises. Wish could do more for ye."

"I know," She reached over to stroke his face, "Both fighters, it goes with the territory... Actually? Both outlaws now too, so even more so."

"Aye, but 'opefully willna be fore'er in yer world, will be an end some'ow."

He moves closer, trying to hold her so he's not hurting her too much,

"Could read to ye."

Kate clutched back at him, ignoring the sore limbs.

"I know, but what kind of end? It's law now, it will take a very long time to get rid of it now, and a lot of court proceedings. Just have to stay underground until then."

She nodded, "Reading would be nice. Maybe something with a happy ending?"

"Wish I knew, love."

When she clutches back, he holds her tighter, kissing her gently and passionately. After a long while, he gently breaks off the kiss and looks around,

"Dinna 'member what books ye've got up 'ere."

She kissed back equally passionate, and finally said afterwards, "There were some on the shelf when I got the room, check there. Might even something with fairy tales, or maybe even something about Robin and all of you up there."

"Aye, I will, be right back. Do ye wish for some more tea while I read?"

He doesn't get up yet, he doesn't know what waits on the other side of her door and wants to keep her as safe as possible here.

"No, thank you. Probably just spill it like this. Don't bother."

Before he gets up, he gives her along long kiss, trying to put all his love and worry into it, all she needs to do is ask and he'd die for her.

Its hard to stop kissing her but he finally does and moves to find the books and comes back with one he hasn't seen before and comes over with it,

"Oscar Wilde's Fairy Tales, these look nice."

But she would never ask such a thing, and she tried to reassure him with stroking his face and her own kiss back.

"Oh, I noticed those, but hadn't looked at them yet."

When he leans down beside her and kisses again, he just doesn't want to let her go and opens the illustrated book to The Fisherman and His Soul and starts to read the complicated tale of the strength of love.

As he reads he pulls her closer, kissing her at harsher moments in the tale.

Kate settled in against him, briefly glancing over at him. She reached up to stroke his cheek as he spoke, further reassurances. Listening to the story, and also how important not to cling too tightly.

When he finally finishes the tale, Will puts the book down and draws her into his arms, giving her a long, slow, passionated kiss.

He strokes the line of her body, treasuring her warmth and love and just wanting to let her know that.

"Easy, Will," She replied after kissing back for a moment. "Bottle some of that for when I don't feel so sore all right? But don't have to baby me either."

"Save that for the kids." She smiled and patted his cheek.

"Forgive me, Kate, will be careful. Should probably read 'nother story."

He blushes slightly and gives her a small kiss, he can't believe she said that, the idea of a future with him.

Kate briefly started at that, well, could have just meant kids like sitting duties around the bar.

But the idea doesn't seem so bad. Seeing him with Kira's baby for example, make a good father some day.... Whoa, no, long years down the line. Hell, not really sure how much of a future her world had, and it was no world to bring a child into. At least maybe after college, she'd think about it. But that was years off.

"Should do that," She agreed, and yawned.

He gives a small grin, but doesn't say anything more, the time when they can have a safe future together is far away,

"Right, this one looks nice, The 'appy Prince."

And moves her gently so she's a bit more snuggled against him in case she falls asleep.

"That could seem wrong somehow...Not sure though."

She settled more in against him, and listened. After a while, her eyes drifted shut.

"Night, Will," she yawned again.

He smiles as she falls asleep and brings the covers over them and turns out the lights.

It takes him a long time to fall asleep as he just watches her sleep, in time his eyes drift shut and he sleeps beside her.

He twitches slightly in his sleep, holding her tighter as the nightmares come near.

Kate also shifted a little in her sleep, now frowning from nightmares as well. Not quite trying to punch in her sleep, but close.

Her almost punch stirs Will and he looks down at her whispering,

"Kate, love, wake up, tis just a nightmare."

Her eyelids flickered in her sleep, still moving, and her feet kicked slightly.

"Mmm-zzph?"

She then slowly blinked her eyes, still tense.

"What?"

He strokes her hair, "Just a nightmare, Kate. I'll keep ye safe."

Kate finally relaxed slightly, and nestled against him again, "That's only here. Not like we can keep each other safe in our worlds, Will."

His hand is getting lost in her dark hair and he leans to kiss her forehead,

"I know, Kate, but least 'ere in this room, ye are safe."

Soft murmur, "Keep saying things like that, and I won't want to leave, or get up."

Bringing a hand up to trace his face, and stroked his cheek lightly before she moved up to kiss him.

"Tisna morn yet, dinna 'ave to do anythin' yet."

He returns the kiss gently, not wishing to hurt her but just loving her so much.

"Mmm..." She slowly broke the kiss, "Point."

"Probably should sleep some more then."

He gently kisses her cheeks and face, "Aye, probably should."

She sighed, and closed her eyes again.

Her eyes blinked open a moment later to peer back up at him, "We did make a good team. Felt pretty good. I could help keep those hunters off your back."

He just grins down at her, kissing her forehead, "Aye, we did, we'll see."

Kate eyed him some more, and then tried again to sleep a bit longer.

He gives her forehead another kiss as he closes his eyes,

"Just mean tis quiet now is all."

"...And when it isn't?" She sleepily replied.

"Then we'll see 'ow much warnin' we've got. Sweet dreams, love."

He gives her another kiss on the lips and tucks her close to him.

"Hope yours is more than the sorry one we got," She murmured with a brief kiss back, and added, "Sweet dreams. Love you." Her breathing gradually grew slower and deeper as she started to drift off again.

This time, he falls asleep faster and sleeps through the night.
