Back to New York for another visit

They walked through the door, and it lead out to a street a few blocks from the warehouse where the team now trained.

Kate got out her cellphone, and texted a message, her other hand linked with Will's.

"Just letting Cassie and the others know we're on our way. Another example of modern technology, a lot quicker than trying to call across a town square, and longer distance," She held up the phone to show him the modern device.

The brightening makes him smile a lot as does her kiss,

"Dinna think I've e'er been in a toy store."

In the cab he moves his arm so its around her waist.

Kate just stroked his hair some, and gave a brief look back at the driver who just glanced through the rear view at them both.

"Hey... aren't you?"

Kate simply replied to him, "Yes, and there's an extra 400 hundred if you don't mention it to anyone."

"Lady, for 400 bucks, I'd drive you wherever the hell you wanted to go and back."

She gave a smile at that, and then said to Will, "Well, you'll get to see both."

Will just smiles and moves under her hand,

"Would like that an 'rhaps can get somethin' to eat too. Were talkin' 'bout goin' to a show or somethin' later, do ye still wish to?"

"We could. There's any number of plays and musicals out there now to see. And you ever had an ice cream sundae before?"

Thinking they could get a really oversized one designed to be split for two.

"Aye, maybe once in the Bar, but ne'er 'ad one with ye."

"There's a place uptown where you can get a great big one for sharing."

They reached their stop finally. She ended up giving the driver 500 instead, which he appreciated, and briefly asked if she wanted a chauffeur.

"I think we'll be ok, thank you very much."

She then gripped Will's hand and lead him inside FAO Schwartz first with the over-sized singing and moving sculpture in the main entrance area was welcoming all to the world of toys.

Will's eyes go very, very wide at the store and he has to dodge out of the way of two four year old girls laughing and twirling,

"So big."

Oh boy, here we go with serious culture shock.

"Yes, a lot of stores in the city are big like this with several floors. Uh, Will? Have you ever been on an elevator before?"

Its culture shock combined with omg toys, "Nay, ne'er 'fore, but ye're with me."

"All right, remember that movie we saw? It's not that big a deal. Just like a little room, only it moves."

She gently tugged him along, though there were another pair of children running past near them. One was a little girl in a pink dress with a toy tiara on her head, the other a boy with a toy bow, and a green cap on his head.

"But I wanted to be Robin!" The girl exclaimed.

"Nu-uh, you can't be Robin Hood, you're a girl! You have to be Maid Marian."

"But I don't wanna, I wanna a bow too! I wanna be Hawkeye!"

The boy scoffed at that, "Dur... Hawkeye was a boy too."

Only for the girl to triumphantly go as they continued running around, "Nu-uh, there's a girl called that now too! I saw her on the news."

"Fine, but I still get to be Robin Hood!" The boy said as they hurried into another section of the toy store, their voices eventually fading into the background noise of shoppers and store workers, and the various sounds of thousands of devices and toys.

Kate watched them go, and quietly said, "...Well, that was seriously surreal."

As he watches the children, Will relaxes and pulls Kate into his arms, kissing her ear. There's a fair bit of awe and amazement in his voice since he'd been told that children played as Robin's men but to see it,

"Tis somethin' I ne'er thought I'd see."

She bit her bottom lip to hide the soft noise at the kiss.

She then added as she turned her head toward him, "Told you you're all famous."

Not mentioning that she was to some degree already, even before she joined the Young Avengers. She then lead them over to the clear elevator to head upstairs to some of the other floors.

"I think we can skip the Barbie section, but there's other areas that are good instead."

"Aye, but to 'ave children doin' that, used to play at Arthur's knights when I was a lad."

He follows her up, moving from a hug to just holding her hand, the elevator gives him a slight pause but he follows her in.

"Sometimes they still do that too. It's just a lot more centuries of stories to choose from now then back in your day."

She kept a tight grip on his hand in the elevator, idly stroking it with her thumb as the car moved upward. Also glancing over to make sure he was all right.

He's not scared just intensely curious and lifts her hand up to kiss it for a moment,

"'rhaps should get ye a 'at like that lad was wearin'."

Kate scoffed at that, "I really don't think so. I wasn't going to copy Hawkeye's headband, definitely not going to wear anything like that on my head either."

The elevator dinged and they came out to a floor with lots of Lego pieces and Playmobil. There was even a shelf with tiny Knight figures on steeds, and dragons rearing up for attack.

"Just teasin'."

Then his eyes go wide once more, "Ne'er knew could be so many types o'toys."

Gentle poke to his side at that.

She walked toward one of the shelves that had some small models of pirate ships.

"And this is just what's currently on shelves. There's even more around the holidays."

He nods, carefully picking them up and looking at everything,

"Do they na make 'em out o'wood anymore?"

"Mostly plastic and synthetic materials these days. They last longer that way. A lot longer." To the point that many would still be around past the end of humanity.

"Oh aye, guess I can see that, they're just all so bright. Few toys I e'er 'ad were carved out o'wood."

He keeps wandering through the aisles, stopping to peer at something and then laughs,

"Tis one that looks like Atton o'er 'ere with a saber an all."

"Really?" Kate came over, and stared with a laugh. "Should we tell him, or think it might be a blow to his ego?"

"Should get it for 'im o'course. Though canna quite figure out the name on it, someone I've ne'er 'eard o'Qui John Jin."

"Um, somebody else I suppose," Not saying more on the movie or anything, just in case. There was then the sound of a lightsaber being switched on, and then waved around. But when they went to look, it was another boy, looked to be around junior high age who was playing with a Force FX saber. A blue one.

"Should we get one of those too?"

Will's just going to be laughing for a moment,

"Nay, think this should do it for now."
