Civil War: Prison Break and One Last Battle

She kept Will's hand closely linked in hers as she opened the door to a place that was full of metal, and underground. Realizing how strange and disturbing it must look to the medieval man with dark memories she squeezed his hand a little tighter. Looked quiet enough around this hallway at least for the time being as she walked along in her Hawkeye costume. Her boots making slight noise against the tiled floor.

"Need to find a place you can hide until I can introduced you to Cap. At least my teammates can vouch for you now as well. Everybody's really nervous with the plans to get into the prison now."

"Aye, I understand, just tell me where to tuck myself away. If this place is like the castle, will be a nook or two."

He squeezes her hand back, its not as bad the fortress in Atton's world but not someplace he wants to spend a lot of time either. Searching along the walls, he spots a small room,

"'rhaps in there?"

Kate nodded, and did a sweep of the room to confirm it.

"That should work, and it locks from the inside too. Even better." She then quickly kissed him.

"Stay safe, I love you. When it's quiet, I'll bring you in."

"Aye, I'll be 'ere."

He kisses her back then moves into the shadows of the small room, his thoughts moving in slightly worried circles as he waits for her, his hand on the hilt of his sword.

There was a vent in the room that lead to the conference room nearby where Kate had gone to sit down at the table by the other Young Avengers. Listening to Cap going over the plans for hitting the prison that night to help their people escape before more portals are established to the super prison. And Spiderman emphasizing how they needed everyone with the numbers they had.

Then two other people were introduced, Goldbug and Plunderer. Seconds later shots rang out with Punisher declaring them murderers and thieves.

Then the sounds of fighting as Cap declared "You murderous piece of trash!"

The shots echo loudly around the underground hide out and Will comes forward to the door, his sword drawn and worried.

If Kate gets shot or hurt, he really doesn't care that much if he's caught.

Then some more fighting, and Cap yelling at him to "fight you, coward!" Only for Punisher to refuse, and Captain America then ordering to get him out of here, and to toss his guns in the incinerator.

It was quieter after that, and then there was somebody walking over to the door.

And knocking.

Kate's voice could be heard through the door, "Will, it's me. It's ok, you can come out now."

He opens the door slowly, his sword still drawn which looks odd against the modern clothing but he lowers it and hugs Kate,

"Are ye well, what 'appened?"

She embraced him back for a moment.

She then stated grimly, "I'm fine. But I'm glad I didn't introduce you before with Punisher around. He just got thrown out for killing two people. Some small time supervillains as I've heard. Cap was only putting up with him before since he agreed to help us, and brought us Spiderman after he changed sides to ours, nearly beaten to within an inch of his life."

His sword is sheathed and Kate is wrapped tightly in his arms,

"Oh love, always get men who fight for the taste o'blood more than for doin' right. Will Cap be alright with me?"

"I've tried to explain to him. Apparently there's been some intel already about Milliways. Who knew?"

She hugged him tightly, and then there were two figures approaching them. Spiderman and Captain America.

Spidey eyed him a little, "Man, you're not much than a kid either."

Captain America was silent for the moment, clearly sizing Will up.

Will just takes Kate's hand and stands at his tallest, before bowing to them both,

"I've fought beside Robin for nigh on five years, sirs, an wish to be o'any 'elp I can."

"Really want to join the insanity like the rest of us, huh?" Spidey replied, but then Cap held up his hand to silence him.

"You know I'm taking an awful lot on faith here, and we had problems with the last person jumping in like this, and the lengthy year gap doesn't help. You sure you can vouch for him, Kate?"

"He's fought against a number of enemies before, and can handle himself in battle. Plus, there's two people here who had to overcome a long gap in time." Giving Cap a pointed look, and Spidey was trying not to look smug at that.

Cap eyed Will and Kate both, and then extended a large red gloved hand to Will.

"Welcome aboard, son."

"Sir, tis a good chance ye know tales o'me an I'm loyal an a good fighter. Ne'er let Robin down if tis aught I could do."

Will takes Cap's hand and gives a small bow,

"An I've fought 'gainst the Brood with a few o'the X-Men an will do all that I need to do for Kate."

The hour was up, and the entire group were teleported to the Baxter building. From there, Susan Richards lead them to the portal Reed had set up which lead to 42, the super-prison. She made them all invisible as they went through the portal, which allowed the front line to knock out the guards by the portal.

They were in, and ready to get their friends out when Spiderman suddenly yelled, "My spidey sense is going off the scale! Seriously, this is DEFCON ONE!"

Just as Iron Man came in with his team, including the Thunderbolts, the villains he commissioned to work for him.

"I'm not surprised," He simply said.

Kate from where she was with Will, and Patriot stiffened slightly at the sight of Cassie over on the opposite side. Silently praying they wouldn't have to fight each other. Her fingers laced with Will's for a moment before readying her bow.

The teleportation was strange but Will stays quiet and ready throughout and as they arrive at the prison, draws his sword and waits for the fight to begin.

Iron Man then declared how they had walked into a trap, and had a mole in the group. Captain America then said how they had known about Tigra already, and had their own spy. Namely a Hank Pym who was really a shapeshifted Hulking who with his mimicking ability was able to open the cells to let their friends escape.

"I believe this evens the odds a little..." Captain America smugly declared as either side lined up, and sized each other up.

He then added with a sneer to Iron Man's group, "Now close your eyes, gentlemen. This might hurt."


"AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!" The battle cry had sounded, and the fight commenced.

The posturing seems particularly stupid to Will, those who need to be freed are so this fight is just to see who has more power.

Nonetheless he moves into the fight, staying at Kate's side and keeping anyone from hurting her too badly as she fires arrows into the crowd.

Well, there was also the matter of getting back through the portal, which Iron Man's group certainly wasn't going to let them through. But a lot was posturing, with either army paying the price.

Down amidst the troops, Hawkeye was firing, and striking people as quickly as she could if they got too close to her. Nearby Patriot was punching somebody, and hitting them with his shield. There were quick glances to Will to make sure he was ok as well.

He's been in worse fights and is using his sword to rather powerful effect, not killing just wounding enough that people back off.

Though there's not the crazy light of enjoyment he had when in Atton's world, he doesn't understand or like this fight but he'll keep Kate safe.

There really wasn't much logic in the fight, just attack and react at this point. Everybody fending for themselves.

And then there was a dark shadow extending over the entire group.

"Oh God, tell me that isn't Cloak," Iron Man stared upward in shock.

Kate immediately went to latch her free hand onto Will, getting a bad feeling about this.

"Hang on."

The shadow makes Will just shiver as he holds Kate's hand tightly,

"What's 'appenin'?"

"Cloak..." Was all she could say before the entire battle was swallowed into darkness.

They barely had any time to react to the horrors of traveling through that dark dimension before they were all falling through the sky over the city.

"Fliers! Grab a friend now!" Captain America ordered.

And Vision grabbed Patriot and Speed while Wiccan helped Kate and Will onto one of his flying platforms.

"You guys ok?"

Kate nodded, and glanced at Will, "You all right?"

Will's trembling and his knuckles are white where they're gripping his sword hilt and Kate's hand, he just nods.

Then tries to not think too much about how high they are,

"Like the wizard's curse."

"Hey, I'm not!"

"He meant somebody else, back at Milliways, Billy. You saved us."

Wiccan then grinned, "Well, you all saved me by getting me out of that prison."

Kate quietly said, "I'm sorry, I didn't expect Cloak to do that." She briefly hugged him, taking advantage of the brief lull in fighting as they slowly descended.

He blinks, trying to shake off the darkness which Cloak called back up and gives a weak smile at Wiccan,

"Aye, thank ye. I'll be fine, just surprised me was all."

Then hugs Kate back as they descend, not sure what's next in this strange world.
